Take your scientific programming to a new level!
The International Clinics on Infectious Disease Dynamics and Data (ICI3D) Program invites applications for the Software Engineering for Applied Mathematical Sciences Workshop (SEAMS), which will be held 27 February – 10 March 2023.
You learned to program and did some research with that skill – now what? Looking to share your work as a library? Moving the analysis to a high performance computer? Code needs big rewrites to ask new questions? Planning an interactive version for use by decision makers?
The SEAMS faculty invites you to bring your code to this workshop! There you will develop skills to effectively use your programming know-how to research AND apply them to YOUR project in a coached, multi-day hack-a-thon.
Participants: Students or researchers that have contributed to existing code, seeking to improve that code (for distribution as library, to address new questions, increase performance, etc.), who are already familiar with programming languages & tools generally, but not software engineering.
Logistical Information: Presented at StIAS, Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Course fee 18950 ZAR, exclusive of travel, lodging, etc. Some scholarships available (including logistical support). Organizers will facilitate coordination amongst participants for lodging, transportation, etc.
